The Moment I Knew Something Had to Change

By Dylan Henry McDonald, Founder of Catch All Resale

A few months ago, I found myself standing in a parking lot with a paddleboard in the back of my car, feeling frustrated, duped, and a little embarrassed. I had just completed what should’ve been a simple Facebook Marketplace transaction — but it turned into a lesson.

The listing sounded solid: “Used paddleboard, great condition, barely ridden.” The photos showed what I thought was a higher-end brand, one I recognized and trusted. Same model, just a different color — or so I thought. But when I got home and looked closer, the truth set in. The board was actually a different brand altogether — nearly identical in appearance but far cheaper in value. In fact, the one I bought used was $5 more expensive than the version I could’ve bought new, and it was missing the main fin.

So yes — the board was in decent shape. But the listing was misleading. And the more I thought about it, the more I realized how common this kind of experience has become.

It wasn’t just about the brand mix-up. It was about trust. About transparency. About how broken the resale experience has become for both buyers and sellers.

The Problem

Selling your stuff online is supposed to be easy — but it’s anything but. Platforms are packed with vague listings, missing info, no-shows, lowballers, and confusing interfaces. And for buyers, there’s often no way to verify quality, no protections, and no guarantees. One mistake, one shady listing, and you're left with regret in the trunk of your car.

Most people don’t have the time or energy to deal with the constant back-and-forth. And most platforms simply weren’t built for the real-world messiness of secondhand selling.

The Idea

That paddleboard moment sparked the idea behind Catch All Resale. A service that makes reselling easier, safer, and more sustainable — for everyone.

No listings. No ghosting. No driveway meetups.

Just snap a few photos or fill out our quick form. We’ll send you an instant quote and a free shipping kit (or schedule a pickup if you’re local). After we inspect and verify the validity and quality of your item, you get paid. Simple, honest, and transparent.

And on the flip side, our online store is stocked with verified, high-quality secondhand goods — each item graded, cleaned, and ready to ship. No mystery. No bait-and-switch.

The Bigger Why

For us, it’s about more than just convenience. It’s about shifting the way we think about ownership, consumption, and waste.

Every item we help rehome is one less thing headed to a landfill. Every purchase keeps value circulating in the local economy. Every donation supports someone in need.

If an item doesn’t qualify for resale, you can choose to donate it. We partner with local shelters, children’s secondhand stores, and community organizations to give gently used goods a second life — where they matter most.

What’s Next

We’re starting small — right here in Colorado — with local pickups, donation drop-offs, and pop-up resale events. But our mission is big. We believe resale can be trustworthy, effortless, and good for people and the planet.

If you've ever felt overwhelmed by clutter…

If you've ever been misled online…

If you just believe in giving good things a second chance — you're not alone.

Thanks for being here. Let’s fix the second-hand resale experience together.

Let’s Catch All the good — and pass it on.
